Restoration
W hat does this word mean to the church people? I hardly ever hear anyone talk about the process of restoration. The meaning of this word is when you bring something back to its original condition. The product will then cost more then it did originally. Galatians 6:1 says, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in one spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” I’ve noticed in some churches that when someone has sinned, it’s like they have contracted a bad plague and that it is extremely unlikely that they could be to restore back to the church. We have sat in our sealed houses and thought how “sin proofed” we are. Let me remind you what a being Christian actually is. It’s being Christ like. I hope Christ doesn’t act like us. I have been teaching our church to keep Christ lifted up and give God all the glory. There is a story in Luke 6:10, “And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored whole as the other.” Look at how the hand was restored; it appeared as part of the rest of the body. There was no scarring and it did not look like an artificial limb. That just makes me want to shout. I Corinthians 12:14, “For the body is not one member, but many.” The Lord put us in the main body to please him. Restoration has a special meaning to people that have sinned and are dirty and unclean. Amen that one was me. Isaiah 53:6, “All ye like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
